Anne Lykke trained at The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts Schools of Architecture, Design and Conservation in Bornholm, Denmark, graduating in 2014. She works figuratively, handbuilding her forms in clay, and firing usually to earthenware. Her process involves underglazing and glazing, often employing multiple firings to achieve the surface effects she desires. Inspired by colour, texture and form, she works intuitively, shaping the wet clay from designs she conceives and retains in her mind. She sometimes adds found objects and thematic inspiration comes from the natural and mechanised world and mythology.
