Louise Gaarmann graduated from The Danish Design School in 2001. Exhibitions include the 2007 Biennale of Craft and Design and Maison du Danemark in Paris in 2007 and she has also participated in Charlottenborg spring exhibitions, most recently in 2014. She has received multiple grants and awards including the Arts and Craft Prize of 1870, silver medal in 2012.
Louise works mainly in clay, and she is interested in the behaviour and function of the materials and its surface. Her works are mostly one-offs that juxtapose opposites, for example combining the natural expression in clay with synthetic materials such as plastic.
Louise lives and works in Aarhus.
