The Ceramic House 2013

The 2013 exhibition won us BEST OPEN HOUSE OF THE YEAR out of well over 200 houses; a big success and a really stunning, beautiful show. 2013 also remains our most populous show with twenty-one acclaimed artists and was described by one visitor as a “very exciting exhibition, a strong mix of decorative & conceptual work with influences from all over the world”.

The show stretched over four floors of The Ceramic House and garden. We were proud to present Sandy Brown’s work in the garden, complimented by Renee Kilburn and Ferri Farahmandi. For the first time the loft contained installations by Joanna Mires, Simone Perrotte, Rebecca Fairman and Landon Peck and the basement was once more transformed into a “wonderful peep show into other worlds” with Mandee Gage’s pods emitting light from within each conceptual scene. We were thrilled to have Robert Dawson’s Spin in the living room together with Dana Lazarus-Cass, Mayumi Yamashita, Rebecca Symons and Vanessa Conyers, last year’s festival artist of the year. Delfina Emmanuel showed her incredibly intricate sculptural vessels in the Tudor Kitchen with Anna Collette Hunt, Remon Jephcott and Tamar Rose and in the Utility Room were Jessica Joslin, Matthew David Marsh and Melanie Roseveare. Belgin Boszahin put a wonderful display of her wall pieces upstairs.
