Description
Shetland Flora is a body of work Kay Aplin conceived in residence whilst at Scalloway Booth in Shetland in 2015, which resulted in an exhibition In A Shetland Landscape at Shetland Museum & Archives, a response to the Shetland landscape through ceramics and sound in collaboration with sound artist Joseph Young. Kay collected micro-flora growing underfoot and used a digital microscope to capture the initial images, which she translated into ceramic designs.
