Ling Chun is a beauty school dropout from Hong Kong and transposed her passion for hair into becoming a ceramic artist. She received her MFA in ceramics at the Rhode Island School of Design and completed her residency at Archie Bray Foundation & Pottery Northwest afterward.

She is a recent recipient of the ArtBridge Fellowship sponsored by Chihuly Garden and Glass and has shortlisted for the Young Master Art Prize in London as well as received Emerging Artist Award from The National Council on Education for the Ceramic Arts in 2020. She served on the board at Pottery Northwest as an artist resident representative from 2019- 2020. Currently, Ling is represented by Traver Gallery, Seattle WA.

Ling Chun says of her work:

I have a drive, a lust and a greed for colour.

Breaking expectations and perceptions — my surfaces extend even beyond the form, bursting with unusual, surprising materials, including the use of hair. I believe contemporary ceramics will serve as a latter-day artifact of our current acknowledgement of cultural identity. It is a material strongly connected with history but never limited just to its heritage—a new age of ceramics will be one where style is no longer restricted to the old forms.
