SHENG JIE is based in Beijing in China. She graduated with a DNSAP Diploma from École Supérieure des Art Décoratifs de Strasbourg in France in 2005.
“Listen” and “Watch” are two predominant languages in Sheng Jie’s work. Through her sound work, she strives to make a circulatory system of perception in space. She creates experimental music, sound, video, painting, film, installation, composition, audio visual art and performance.
Sheng Jie founded Shanavlab in 2010. In 2020 she released her solo album [Oviparity] which was selected by The Wire Magazine and included in “Top 50 Releases of 2020”. She currently lives and work in Beijing.
