For the 2026 IAC Members’ Exhibition, Inheritance and Innovation, which accompanies the 52nd Congress of the International Academy of Ceramics in Jingdezhen, Kay presents a brand new piece of work created during her residency at Longquan Wangou Taoxichuan International Studio in China, where she was resident for 2 months throughout May and June 2026.
This piece augments her Seeds series, created for the New Members show of the Selected Members of the Craft Potters Association, exhibited at Contemporary Ceramics in February 2025. In Longquan she had the opportunity to create larger versions of this work, fired with celadon glazes, for which Longquan has a long and important history, in the wood kiln.
The exhibition – jointly curated by Luke Li Chao and Zhang Jingjing – is at the Taoxichuan Art Museum in Jingdezhen, China. The exhibition dates are 28 June to 31 August 2026. There was a grand opening ceremony on the first day of the IAC congress, together with two other exhibitions, the Residencies Exhibition, which she is also participating in, and the New Members of the IAC show.
